Having made seven albums as one-half of electronic duo Goldfrapp, Alison released her debut solo long-player last year, The Love Invention, her self-confessed “tribute to the dancefloor”. But whether with Goldfrapp partner Will Gregory or under her own (full) name, the songs are forever delivered by a voice that, according to Slant magazine, is “ethereal, otherworldly, but always human”.
